Limits

  • The cleaner does not OCR images or repair scanned PDFs.
  • HTML stripping is a convenience for leftover tags, not a security sanitizer.

Questions

What does collapse spaces do?

It turns runs of spaces or tabs into a single space without deleting paragraph breaks unless you also remove empty lines.

Will this destroy a poem or code?

It can. Turn off the options you do not want. Code and poetry often need their original spaces.

Does HTML stripping execute scripts?

No. Tags are removed with a text replacement. This is not an HTML sanitizer for untrusted web pages.
